Mom's Custard Pie

Direct from 1970 something...my mom's custard pie!  Looking forward to making this soon with the girls!

Custard Pie

4 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
2.5 cups scalded milk
1 9 inch unbaked pastry shell
ground nutmeg

Blend eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla.  Gradually stir in scalded milk.  Pour into pastry shell.  Sprinkle with nutmeg.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool on rack, then chill.
